Legacy made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,511 from 2,883. The improvement was the result of 70-0 victory over the Longhorns last week.
Bishop Gorman's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Anu Solomon threw for 270 and four touchdowns and Ryan Smith had 79 yards receiving. On the ground Daniel Stewart chipped in 114 yards. Jamir Tillman helped Bishop Gorman's passing attack out by catching four balls for 67 yards.
The Gaels' Solomon and Smith have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading I Sunset - Southwest in both passing and receiving yards. Solomon has thrown for 1239 yards this season, while Smith, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 17 catches for 410 yards. Legacy's Charles Julian leads the league in rushing yards with 719.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Bishop Gorman takes on Cimarron-Memorial. Tony Sanchez's team is currently in second, while the Spartans are in third.
The Gaels led the league in scoring this week after putting up 70 points on the Longhorns. Solomon in the win.
