Delta River recap September 17, 2013
Jesuit's Tyler Marshall recorded the longest rushing play in Delta River this season in his game against El Camino last week. Marshall ran for 52 yards on the play and finished with 52 on the day as his team beat the Eagles.
Jesuit moved up to 172 from 227 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Marlon Blanton's team was able to make move up by topping El Camino 48-14.
Folsom's dynamic duo of Jake Browning and Will McClure proved tough for Roseville to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Browning threw for 371 yards and 7 touchdowns and McClure had 187 yards receiving. Troy Knox helped Folsom's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 88 yards.
The Bulldogs' dynamic duo of Browning and McClure proved to be unstoppable against the Tigers, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
McClure was the best receiver in the league this week as Folsom topped Roseville.
Nolan Merker provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Sheldon fell to Rosemont. He completed 21 passes for 296 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 127 yards. Merker's key target this week was Taron Johnson, who caught 3 passes for 84 yards.
Browning put up the best numbers in passing as Kris Richardson & Troy Taylor's team bested Larry Cunha's team.
Demaree Morris was the most successful running back in Delta River this week. He ran for 151 yards on 14 carries as Pleasant Grove defeated the Tigers. Teammate Brandon Lewis added to the ground attack by rushing for 81 yards.
6-foot-2 quarterback Browning of Folsom is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,029. He has also thrown 16 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Johnson. The Sheldon star has 17 catches for 426 yards.
The Eagles took down Nevada Union 62-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Deaundre Terrell threw for 162 yards and ran for 20 yards in the win.
