The River Dell Golden Hawks entered their tilt with the Indian Hills Braves with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. River Dell took down the Braves 68-53 on Thursday. Given River Dell's advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Braves are ranked 288th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
River Dell got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was David Nunez out in front who scored 18 points along with six assists. It was the first time this season that Nunez scored 15 or more points. Aditya Pandya was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
River Dell has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Indian Hills, they dropped their record down to 7-12 with that loss, which was their seventh straight at home.
River Dell will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on February 3rd. As for Indian Hills, they will take on the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
