Calhoun Academy owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Clarendon Hall Saints with a sharp 7-0 win. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Cullen Sightler made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Those 16 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Sightler wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Chase Strickland, who went 2-for-4 with one double. Crews Felder was another, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Calhoun Academy pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Clarendon Hall, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Calhoun Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Saints: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
