They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Golden Elks. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Lyla Wescoat (2027) was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over 5.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Temperance Fitzimmons (2025) was a standout: she scored two runs while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Marcum (2027), who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Bohemia Manor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in eight consecutive games.
Caravel Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Bohemia Manor, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Caravel Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Bohemia Manor struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 strikeouts.
