The Dunmore Bucks will take on the Elk Lake Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Dunmore 1.6, Elk Lake 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Friday, Dunmore came up short against Mid Valley and fell 4-1. The contest marked the Bucks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Dunmore saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Forgione, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. Forgione has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
Meanwhile, Elk Lake had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Everything went their way against the Eagles as they made off with a 13-1 victory. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 6, 2024, but that streak is no more.
Braydon McMicken and Dawson Sherman made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, McMicken didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Meanwhile, Sherman tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, McMicken scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5, while Sherman scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those four hits gave McMicken a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Logan Ayotte, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Alden Felker, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Elk Lake was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Dunmore fell to 7-1. As for Elk Lake, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Dunmore has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Elk Lake struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Dunmore took their victory against Elk Lake in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 11-4 score. Do the Bucks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
