The Legend Titans took care of business in their home opener on Wednesday. They managed a 48-43 win over Arapahoe. This was payback for Legend, who suffered a 76-68 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Legend got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Seth Whitehead out in front who scored 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Flowers, who scored 11 points along with 3 steals.
Despite the loss, Arapahoe still got an impressive performance from Miles McMonigle, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. Rifky Sedhom was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 7 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Arapahoe were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Legend only pulled down four.
Legend's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Arapahoe, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Legend will take on Mountain Range at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Allowing an average of 86 points per game, Mountain Range has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this contest. As for Arapahoe, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Fossil Ridge at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Fossil Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday.
