Softball Recap: Narbonne Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

There's no place like home for Narbonne, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Jefferson Democrats on Friday as they made off with a 20-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Gauchos, who have now won ten contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Narbonne let Cheyenne Bennett and Neyra Avila run wild. Bennett got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Avila went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Avila has posted since back in March. Delilah Celio was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Narbonne always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .833. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Narbonne's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 15-7. As for Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6-1.

Looking ahead, Narbonne will square off against Gardena at 3:15 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.18 runs per game on average), something the Gauchos will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Jefferson, they will face off against Manual Arts at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
