Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Seminole Warhawks walked away with it. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat the Warriors 50-12 at home. Seminole pushed the score to 42-12 by the end of the third, a deficit Osceola had little chance of recovering from.
Laney Pearson was her usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Seminole's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devon Swartz, who scored ten points along with three blocks.
Seminole pushed their record up to 13-12 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points per game. As for Osceola, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
Seminole will square off against Clearwater at TBD on Friday. Clearwater presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Seminole in Florida (Clearwater is ranked 143rd, while Seminole is ranked 356th). Osceola does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
