Basketball Recap: Patrick Henry Academy Comes Up Short

Patrick Henry Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were one points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 57-56 heartbreaker at the hands of the Calhoun Academy Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 122nd).

Patrick Henry Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Rowen Croft, who went 10 of 20 on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds. Croft has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 16 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Daivon Glover, who went 8 of 14 en route to 20 points.

Chase Strickland continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Calhoun Academy, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hunter Thornburg, who posted ten points and seven rebounds.

Patrick Henry Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Calhoun Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
