Greer dropped down to 4-5 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They were beaten by the Seneca Bobcats 42-13. Having soared to a lofty 61 points in the game before, the Yellow Jackets couldn't push the score so high this time.

Although Greer took the loss, they still got scores from Tucker Hudson and Zy Foster.

As for Seneca, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-1. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won eight matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Amari Verner was his usual excellent self, rushing for 341 yards and five scores while picking up 14.2 yards per carry. Verner is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 115 every time he's taken the field this season. Gavin Thoma was another key player, throwing for 110 yards and one touchdown.

Greer will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Daniel at 7:30 p.m. on the 31st. The Lions' defense has only allowed 14.9 points per game this season, so the Yellow Jackets' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Seneca, they have already played their next game, a 48-14 victory against Pickens on the 24th.
