Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Portage Northern). They came out on top against the Niles Vikings by a score of 64-52 on Tuesday. That's more bragging rights for the Huskies, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The victory made it two in a row for Portage Northern and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Niles, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-3 record.

Portage Northern will be playing in front of their home fans against Gull Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Portage Northern knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully Gull Lake likes a good challenge. Niles and Paw Paw will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Paw Paw will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Niles surely won't give up without a fight.
