The Lone Grove Longhorns will head out on the road to face off against the Madill Wildcats at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Lone Grove will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 166th, while Madill is ranked tenth).
Last Friday, Lone Grove came up short against Latta and fell 58-47. Lone Grove has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Madill waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They blew past Sulphur 63-33 on the road. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Madill had established a 26 point advantage.
It was another big night for Ethan Wilkerson, who scored 36 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Brylan James was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight assists and six rebounds.
Lone Grove has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Madill, their victory bumped their record up to 16-1.
Lone Grove came up short against Madill when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 35-24. Can Lone Grove avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
