The Greenville Hornets lost against the Greenwood Bulldogs back in November, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Greenville was the victim of a tough 60-36 defeat at the hands of Greenwood. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Greenville has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Greenville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Gymanuel Wells. Despite the final result, he scored eight points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Isaiah Thomas was another key contributor, scoring two points.
Greenville has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Greenwood, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Yazoo City at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Greenwood will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kosciusko at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
