Softball Recap: Bullitt East's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Bullitt East put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Monday. They didn't even let the Butler Bears on the board, marking the Chargers' second-straight 15-0 shutout. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 contests by six runs or more this season.

Ryleigh Watrous made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Bullitt East got a massive performance out of Courtney Bass, who went 4-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four hits gave Bass a new career-high. Carly Bryant was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Bullitt East kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Bullitt East's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 26-5. As for Butler, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-10.

Bullitt East has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Mercy on the 28th. Butler does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
