After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Robinson, the Concord Spiders were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They skirted past Lake Norman Charter 53-51. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Concord also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Concord's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaylin Williams, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Taryn Blue, who scored 17 points.
Lake Norman Charter's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Abby Courtney, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and five assists, and Callie Genece who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Courtney has scored all season.
Concord's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-11. As for Lake Norman Charter, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Concord's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. West Rowan will be looking to extend their current 15-game winning streak. As for Lake Norman Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Carson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 46 on Tuesday.
