Baseball Recap: Marshall Academy Has No Trouble Against Kirk Academy

Marshall Academy won against Kirk Academy last Tuesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Marshall Academy Patriots were the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over the Kirk Academy Raiders. Considering the Patriots have won eight games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Mason Woods made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Woods was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Gage Todd was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Phillip Sharpe was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Marshall Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Marshall Academy and bumps their season record up to 11-7. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.5 runs. As for Kirk Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Coming up, Marshall Academy will welcome Winston Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kirk Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on North Delta at 4:00 p.m. on April 1st.
