The Lakewood Leopards and the West Columbus Vikings squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Lakewood Leopards had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a rough 42-0 loss at the hands of the Vikings. Lakewood's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
It was another big night for Unique Kelly, who rushed for 133 yards and four touchdowns on only ten carries for West Columbus. Kelly was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards.
Another reason for the win was West Columbus' imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Lakewood's QB won't forget Triston Freeman anytime soon given Freeman sacked him twice.
Lakewood's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3. As for West Columbus, they have yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record.
Lakewood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. West Columbus will play host again and welcome Wilson Prep, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilson Prep is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
