The Lee's Summit West Titans will head out on the road to challenge the Liberty Blue Jays at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lee's Summit West is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games.
Lee's Summit West posted their closest win yet this season last Friday. They skirted past Lee's Summit 59-57. Given Lee's Summit West's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Lee's Summit is ranked 246th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Liberty pushed their score all the way to 56 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Oak Park at home by a decisive 72-56 margin. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Liberty has scored all season.
Lee's Summit West pushed their record up to 10-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Liberty, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
Lee's Summit West took their victory against Liberty in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a conclusive 65-39. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lee's Summit West since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
