You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for McCormick on Monday. They managed a 51-45 victory over the Ware Shoals Hornets. The win was familiar territory for the Chiefs who have now won three matchups in a row.

Ware Shoals lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Stella Eichhorn, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 20 rebounds. That was a full 35.6% of Ware Shoals' points, marking the third time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Watts, who earned 16 points and three steals.

McCormick's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points per game. As for Ware Shoals, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5.

McCormick will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Calhoun Falls Charter at 6:00 p.m. Calhoun Falls Charter will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something McCormick surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ware Shoals, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Thornwell at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
