The Kennedy Commanders fell victim to the Lutheran Lions''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Lions, falling 49-0. While losing is never fun, Kennedy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 159th, while Lutheran is ranked 33rd).
Lutheran got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Evan Holdridge out in front who rushed for 120 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Holdridge's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryken Daugaard, who rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown.
Kennedy's loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. As for Lutheran, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Kennedy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Lutheran will be playing at home against Fort Morgan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
