Griffin is 5-0 against Howard since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Griffin Bears will look to defend their home court against the Howard Huskies at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Griffin waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They managed a 54-50 win over Spalding.
Griffin found their leader in underclassman Naima Foster, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Zamiyah Hosley, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Howard escaped with a win on Friday against Perry by the margin of a single free throw, 46-45. The win was just what Howard needed coming off of a 53-31 defeat in their prior contest.
Griffin pushed their record up to 16-9 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Howard, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-18.
Griffin took their win against Howard in their previous matchup last Tuesday by a conclusive 53-31. Will Griffin repeat their success, or does Howard have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
