Hunter is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Cyprus a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The two teams, after both having extra time off, will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court at 1:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Hunter will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Skyline, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Wolverines walked away with a 60-48 victory over the Eagles two weeks ago. That 12-point margin sets a new team best for the Wolverines this season.

Grace Gallagher had another great game (as she tends to do), dropping a double-double with 25 points and 19 rebounds. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more blocks the last 33 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Skye Davidson, who posted 14 points and six boards.
Meanwhile, Cyprus had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Summit Academy with a sharp 51-29 win last Friday.
Cyprus found their leader in sophomore Anaiyah Fesola'i, who put up 18 points and six steals. With that strong performance, Fesola'i is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Odejinmi, who went 5-for-10 en route to 13 points.
Cyprus smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive board total in three consecutive contests.
Hunter's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Cyprus, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Hunter has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 34.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Cyprus struggles in that department as they've been averaging 22.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Hunter was able to grind out a solid victory over Cyprus in their previous meeting back in February, winning 49-41. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was the Pirates' Calee Sharp, who had 17 points and three steals. Now that she won't be playing on Friday, will it be easier for the Wolverines to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
