4A Conference 8 recap September 17, 2013
Justin Hensley and Rick Mack provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Western Guilford. The longest such play in 4A Conference 8 this season, the connection resulted in 62 yards.
High Point Central added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Grimsley, 42-27. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Bison.
Hensley put up the best numbers in passing as Southwest Guilford bested the Hornets. He finished with a total of 13 completions for 239 yards and 5 touchdowns. Hensley's favorite target this week was Mack, who caught 8 passes for 145 yards.
Jameel Mack was a passing and rushing force as High Point Central topped the Whirlies. He completed 20 passes for 208 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 154 yards. Mack's favorite target this week was Charles Edmond, who caught 10 passes for 95 yards.
Antwone Vance was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 161 yards on 27 carries as East Forsyth defeated Reagan. Christian Beal also contributed to the rushing game with 32 yards on the ground.
Miller was the best receiver in 4A Conference 8 this week as the Eagles beat the Raiders. Miller racked up 8 receptions for 166 yards.
He went 13-19 with 1 interceptions.
Northwest Guilford moved up to 32 from 64 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Vikings were able to make move up by defeating Reidsville 42-14.
