The Freeport Falcons will face off against the Sacopee Valley Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Freeport is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Freeport took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over Medomak Valley.

Andrew Thomas was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Freeport is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Thomas was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season.
In other batting news, Freeport got a big performance out of Sam Walker, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave Walker a new career-high. Drew Pound was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Sacopee Valley waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Greyhounds. That's two games straight that the Hawks have won by just one run.
Like Freeport, Sacopee Valley also got a great game from a two-way player: Cooper Berkowitz. On the mound, Berkowitz tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Owen Barsanti pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Berkowitz earned one run and three stolen bases, while Barsanti went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Donovan Harvey was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Braiden Croteau, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
The win got Freeport back to even at 3-3. As for Sacopee Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
Freeport came out on top in a nail-biter against Sacopee Valley in their previous matchup back in April of 2017, sneaking past 4-2. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
