In what's become a running theme this season, the Jennings County Panthers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Floyd Central with a sharp 67-44 victory. Given Jennings County's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Floyd Central is ranked 78th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jennings County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Juliann Woodard, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Woodard hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Mollie Ernstes, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Jennings County's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Floyd Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
Jennings County will be playing in front of their home fans against Greenwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Floyd Central, they will head out on the road to take on Bedford North Lawrence at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Bedford North Lawrence is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.3 points per game.
