After flying high against the American Leadership Academy Eagles last Friday, the Timpanogos Timberwolves came back down to earth. Timpanogos took a 56-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Provo on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Timpanogos has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Timpanogos saw an underclassman step up: Jaxen Mccuistion scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Mccuistion has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Livingston, who scored five points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Aaron Castagnetto was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with three steals for Provo. Another player making a difference was Soakai Aston, who scored six points along with six steals.
Timpanogos' defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Provo, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Timpanogos on the road again on Friday and play against Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Mountain View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Tuesday. As for Provo, they will head out on the road to take on Uintah at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
