The Hartland Eagles were the 60-56 winner over the Salem Rocks when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Hartland fell 55-48 to Salem on Tuesday. Hartland has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Salem's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ryan Peters, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. Peters hasn't dropped below 16 points for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Tommy Veresh, who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Hartland's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Salem, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hartland will take on Plymouth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Plymouth is coming into the game with four straight losses on the road, meaning Hartland will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Salem, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Canton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Canton will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Salem surely won't give up without a fight.
