South Delta scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell 80-71 to the Simmons Blue Devils. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Blue Devils earlier this season, when they won 67-54.

Amarion Sanders and Marvin Powell certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Sanders went 8 for 13 en route to 22 points and three steals, while Powell went 10 of 14 on his way to 24 points and six boards. That's the most steals Sanders has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Leroy Lindsey, who posted nine points.

Simmons' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Prentavis Madison, who made all 7 shots he took to post 22 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Kenzavius Lundy was another key player, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 22 boards.

South Delta dropped their record down to 7-11 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Simmons, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-14.

South Delta has already played their next game, a 64-54 defeat against Shaw on the 28th. As for Simmons, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-59 win against Leland on the 28th.
