The Bloomfield Bobcats will head out on the road to face off against the Sandia Prep Sundevils at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Bloomfield focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Monday.
Last Monday, Bloomfield came up short against Pojoaque Valley and fell 62-52. Bloomfield has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Bloomfield's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sam Slivers, who scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds, and Andrew Florez who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. Florez scored a full 30.8% of Bloomfield's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Sandia Prep had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a hard 64-50 fall against Menaul.
The losses dropped Bloomfield to 0-2 and Pojoaque Valley to 1-1.
Bloomfield came up short against Sandia Prep when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 47-34. Can Bloomfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
