On Friday, the Danbury Hatters faced the Stamford Black Knights in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Danbury snuck past the Black Knights with a 53-47 victory. The score was all tied up 27-27 at the break, but Danbury was the better team in the second half.
Several Black Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ejai Presley, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Damar Taylor, who scored ten points.
Danbury's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. As for Stamford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-3.
Danbury will head out on the road to take on the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenwich will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 110th, while the Hatters are ranked 23rd). As for Stamford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
