5A Southern Idaho recap Oct. 30, 2012
Capital extended the longest winning streak in 5A Southern Idaho this week by beating Centennial, 26-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Boise and Meridian played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Boise eventually emerging with a 62-61 victory.
JT Williams put up the best numbers through the air as Eagle bested Timberline. He finished with a total of 13 completions for 204 yards and three touchdowns. Williams' favorite target this week was Austin Diffey, who caught nine passes for 139 yards.
Tarik Littlejohn was the best wideout in the league this week as Capital beat the Patriots. Littlejohn tallied 14 receptions for 146 yards. Dylan Hale helped Capital's passing attack out by catching four balls for 69 yards.
Karsten Niederer was the most productive running back in 5A Southern Idaho this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 135 yards as Borah beat Centennial. Teammate Hunter Kenyon added to the ground attack by rushing for 108 yards.
Colter Mann made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Lions topped Rocky Mountain. The sophomore grabbed two sacks.
Borah's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Lions feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Cole Skinner has thrown for 2252 yards and 23 touchdowns this season, while Kion Williams has 48 catches for 1082 yards. Kenyon leads the league in rushing with 1162 yards.
The Eagles' Makena Simis is within 71 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Madison. Accruing a total of 23 touchdowns this year, Simis has thrown for 1929 yards with three interceptions.
