Carlmont's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniel Mattioli, who rushed for 103 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Mattioli got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible68 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Booth, who rushed for 87 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Castro Valley will square off against Livermore at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Carlmont, they will challenge Menlo School at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
