The Safford Bulldogs posted their biggest win yet this season on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 51-21 victory over Tanque Verde. The win made it back-to-back wins for Safford.
Safford got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Hannah Schade out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Schade is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Camilla Smith was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Safford's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-10. As for Tanque Verde, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Safford will be playing in front of their home fans against Pima at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Pima knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Safford likes a good challenge. As for Tanque Verde, they will head out on the road to face off against Thatcher at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
