Sahuarita is on a 15-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Mohave is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Mustangs will host the Thunderbirds at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Sahuarita got the win against Pusch Ridge Christian Academy by a conclusive 15-5. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Sahuarita got a massive performance out of Mayrani Munoz, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four hits gave Munoz a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gracie Soto, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.
Sahuarita was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it's playoff time, and Mohave had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over Bradshaw Mountain on Wednesday.
Rilynn Bragg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kaydence Farnham was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. Jahnezz Jones was another key player, going 1-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
Mohave is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Sahuarita, their win bumped their record up to 23-5.
Saturday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Sahuarita hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .419. However, it's not like Mohave struggles in that department as they've averaged .350. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
