Basketball Recap: C'orna Greene's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dwyer over Palm Beach Lakes

Dwyer lost against Palm Beach Lakes back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Dwyer Panthers took a 53-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Palm Beach Lakes Rams. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rams 17-10 in the first quarter.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was C'Orna Greene, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 11 points and seven rebounds. Those 11 points gave Greene a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Liz Lynskey, who posted 12 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Dwyer smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.

Dwyer's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Palm Beach Lakes, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dwyer will take on Palm Beach Central at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Palm Beach Lakes, they will challenge Atlantic at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
