After losing to the Founders Classical Academy Centurions the last time they met, the Awaken Christian Lions decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Awaken Christian came out on top against Founders Classical Academy by a score of 55-47 on Tuesday. That's two games straight that Awaken Christian has won by exactly eight points.
Awaken Christian found their leader in underclassman Jaylen Jordan, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Jordan has scored at least a third of Awaken Christian's points. Gavin Kepler was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten rebounds and ten assists.
Awaken Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Founders Classical Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.
Awaken Christian will head out on the road to square off against Needles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Needles knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 16 matches -- so hopefully Awaken Christian likes a good challenge. As for Founders Classical Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against GV Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nevada (GV Christian is ranked 88th, while Founders Classical Academy is ranked 80th).
