The Riverwood Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 42-6 defeat at the hands of Marist. Riverwood was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-6.
Jackson Davis threw for 176 yards and a touchdown. Devyn Gipson was his top target, picking up 86 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Riverwood has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Marist, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Riverwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Marist will play host again and welcome Northside, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Northside will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Marist is ranked 22nd).
