The Clover Hill Cavaliers will face off against the Dinwiddie Generals at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Clover Hill comes in on three and Dinwiddie on 12.
While Clover Hill's victory against Manchester wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cavaliers skirted past the Lancers 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cavaliers have posted against the Lancers since May 13, 2021.
Analia Reyes was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Kristyn Niles, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Clover Hill kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Prince George typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Dinwiddie proved too difficult a challenge. They put the hurt on the Royals with a sharp 12-2 victory. Considering the Generals have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Emily Jordan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Jordan was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Dinwiddie got a massive performance out of Michaela Shell, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Addison Williams was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Dinwiddie's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Clover Hill, their win bumped their record up to 11-4.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Clover Hill hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .415. However, it's not like Dinwiddie struggles in that department as they've averaged .398. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Clover Hill couldn't quite get it done against Dinwiddie in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 5-2. Will the Cavaliers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
