Freeman is 0-3 against Prince George since March of 2022 but things could change on Monday. The Mavericks will head out to take on the Royals at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Freeman put up the most runs they have all season on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over Maggie Walker.

Caroline Baird was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI. Those hits marked the first that she got this season.
In other batting news, Kayleigh Perks was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. Another player making a difference was Oakley Cotropia, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Freeman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Maggie Walker only posted an OBP of .382.
Meanwhile, Prince George put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Petersburg get on the board and left with a 19-0 win. That 19 run margin sets a new team best for the Royals this season.
Payton Finney and Kaitlyn Hacker made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Finney struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Hacker pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Finney scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2, while Hacker went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Hacker is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Riley Hacker was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Lexie Foster was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Prince George's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Freeman, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Freeman hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Prince George struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Freeman suffered a grim 19-3 defeat to Prince George when the teams last played back in March. Can the Mavericks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
