Basketball Game Preview: Questa Wildcats vs. Des Moines Demons

Questa is 3-0 against Des Moines since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Questa Wildcats will square off against the Des Moines Demons at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Des Moines is hoping to do what Dulce couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Questa's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Questa blew past Dulce 64-29. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Wildcats have posted since December 16, 2024.

Alyse Lovato continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Aliyah Santistevan was another key player, putting up 12 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Questa smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 13 consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Des Moines). They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Clayton 63-29. That's two games straight that the Demons have won by exactly 34 points.

Des Moines pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points per game. As for Questa, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.

Questa strolled past Des Moines in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 59-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Questa since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
