It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Morgan had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the North Sanpete Hawks 72-33. Winning may never get old, but the Trojans sure are getting used to it with their 20th in a row.
Morgan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jake Hansen out in front who went 7-for-9 to rack up 15 points and six assists. The dominant performance also gave Hansen a new career-high in shooting accuracy (78%). Josh DeMond also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.
Hansen wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Morgan was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Sanpete only eight assists.
When it comes to explaining why North Sanpete lost, don't look at Ridge Hendry. Despite the final result, he went 9-for-22 en route to 23 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Austin Gillins, who posted three points.
Morgan's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-1. As for North Sanpete, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.
