The team also got some help courtesy of Krisalyn Johnson, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Escambia Academy couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a rough 56-22 loss at the hands of Sparta Academy. Escambia Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-7.
Sparta Academy pushed their record up to 9-0 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Escambia Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
