Mt. Shasta hadn't done well against Weed recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bears secured a 52-47 W over the Cougars. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 55-45 win back in December of 2025.

Mt. Shasta's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Yager, who shot 42% from the field to rack up 20 points and five rebounds. What's more, Yager also posted a 75% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February of 2025. Ben Kennedy also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Mt. Shasta's record now sits at 8-10. As for Weed, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 10-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Mt. Shasta will square off against Fall River at 8:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bears are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Weed, they will take on Trinity at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
