Basketball Recap: Baker Piles Up the Points Against Northview

Baker won the last time they faced Northview and things went their way on Friday too. The Baker Gators blew past the Northview Chiefs 72-41. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.

Baker's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Terrance Clausell, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 14 points and seven blocks. The dominant performance gave Clausell a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Hardin, who went 5 for 11 en route to 12 points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Baker was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Northview's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kayden Samelson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Caleb Levins, who posted 12 points and five boards.

Baker is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32.8 points. As for Northview, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.

Baker wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-45 win against Jay on the 14th. Northview has also already played their next contest, a 67-47 defeat against W.S. Neal on the 13th.
