The Hubbertville Lions lost against the Pickens County Tornadoes back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Hubbertville ended up on the wrong side of a rough 39-15 walloping at the hands of Pickens County. Hubbertville has struggled against Pickens County recently, as their contest on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Pickens County can attribute much of their success to Santonio Jones, who picked up 215 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Kemaurion Plott was another key contributor, rushing for 63 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Hubbertville's defeat was their fourth straight at home (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 4-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 17.3 points per game. As for Pickens County, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Coincidentally, Hubbertville and Pickens County will both be playing Marion County the next time they take the field. Hubbertville will head out to face Marion County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Pickens County will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on November 2nd.
