Volleyball Recap: Liberty Has No Trouble Against Bristol

Liberty had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Bristol on Saturday. The Leopards put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 3-0 victory. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Leopards yet this season.

While Liberty won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 28-26, 25-9.

Tamia Lyons paced Liberty's offense, picking up nine kills. Lyons got some help from Kiera Thigpen and her 11 assists. Thigpen was also solid from the service line: she led the team with 12 aces.

Liberty's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Bristol, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Liberty didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Crestview on the 25th. As for Bristol, they will face off against Maplewood at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
