Evan Davis posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He also allowed no hits, which is notable because Edgewood is undefeated when he allows at most one hit, but 7-8 otherwise.

Davis' strong effort led Edgewood over La Puente and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions are 8-2 against the Warriors going back to March of 2019, a lead they'll look to extend.
