While Edinburgh might've come up empty on Tuesday, Avynn Whitaker wasn't going down without a fight. Whitaker wasn't messing around, striking out 14 batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. The pitching appearance was his fifth straight with five or more strikeouts.

Even though Whitaker couldn't lead Edinburgh over Southwestern, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
