The Tabiona Tigers waltzed into their contest on Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They enjoyed a cozy 64-50 victory over Rich. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Tabiona also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tabiona to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chance Lazenby, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks. Lazenby hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Logan Rhoades was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 12 rebounds and six assists.
When it comes to explaining why Rich lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaden Desch. Despite the final result, he scored 14 points along with three blocks and two steals. Desch has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Muirbrook, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
Tabiona's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. As for Rich, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tabiona won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Manila at 7:00 p.m. on January 13th. Manila has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Rich, they will head out on the road to square off against Altamont at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
